My approach is integrative, collaborative, and welcoming.

Integrative.
It is integrative because there is only one “you”: Your biological dispositions, social circumstance and psychological make-up are unique, and so my approach will be tailored to your specific needs.  It will draw on any of these therapies, which research has shown to be effective:  Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical-Behaviour Therapy (DBT) as well as on Mindfulness.

Collaborative.
“Collaborative” means I see my role as a process facilitator:  You are the expert on your experience – only you know how you are feeling – and I am an expert in providing a nurturing environment for you to access and explore your experience, and in guiding you in your path towards wellness.  Together we can transform your experience and create lasting, positive changes.

Being integrative and collaborative also means I respect and see value in collaborating with other professionals who take care of you.  I will be happy to be in touch with your family doctor, psychiatrist, specialist, allied health (E.g., Massage Therapist, Chiropractic Doctor) and other professionals.

Welcoming.
Over the years I have welcomed and have had the privilege of working with clients of varying age, gender, sexual orientation and identity, socio-economic status, (dis)ability status, ethnicity, race, culture, region and religion.  In my practice, I focus on creating a safe, compassionate and nurturing space for all.
